APEC Summit Papua New Guinea International Conference Center

On November 18, the 26th APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting concluded in Port Moresby, the capital of Papua New Guinea. At the entrance of the International Conference Center, the prominent red letters "China Aid" and its emblem stand out distinctly. This project represents China's largest aid initiative in the Pacific Island region. At the request of the Papua New Guinea government, China upgraded the facility to meet the needs of hosting the 2018 APEC Summit. The renovated center now includes multifunctional halls, an international press center, banquet halls, and other facilities, earning high praise from both the Papua New Guinea government and the APEC organizing committee for its functionality, aesthetics, and meeting effectiveness.

During the renovation, CREATOR participated in the project's optimization of conference systems and audiovisual signal transmission and control. The expansive International Conference Center comprises various-sized meeting halls, press briefing rooms, banquet halls, offices, equipment rooms, and auxiliary spaces. Leveraging advanced audiovisual technology, CREATOR equipped each meeting room with independent central control systems, matrix switching systems, digital conference systems, and simultaneous interpretation systems, collectively building an intelligent and informatized international conference center.

The main assembly hall features a 700-seat infrared simultaneous interpretation system, which ensures wireless transmission and reception in any venue type. Supporting 31+1 interpretation channels, it enables seamless multilingual communication for up to 15+1 languages. With high transmission frequency, strong signal coverage, and clear audio quality, the system avoids interference from high-frequency light sources.

Six high-performance infrared radiation panels (model CR-IR3001) were installed to ensure 360° signal coverage without dead zones. APEC participants used 8-channel infrared receivers (CR-IR3002-8) and headphones to select their preferred language channel for high-quality audio output.

Additionally, each meeting room was equipped with CREATOR's fully digital conference systems (DIG5 and M4 series). These systems utilize 32-bit high-speed floating-point DSP processing technology, integrating simultaneous interpretation, voting, microphone management, display units, service requests, internal communication, and messaging. Flexible in operation, they maximize meeting efficiency.

To manage signal switching and unified control across multiple rooms, matrix switchers were deployed for effective audio signal management. Central control systems enable intuitive and intelligent device management, allowing even non-technical staff to easily handle signal mode switching.

Reflecting on the past, initiatives like the Belt and Road and the first China International Import Expo demonstrate China's commitment to shared development and global recognition of Chinese solutions. Looking ahead, CREATOR will continue contributing to the shared prosperity of the Asia-Pacific region and the world.
